The Jubilee House, located in Accra, Ghana, stands as the official residence and office of the President of Ghana. Inaugurated on November 10, 2008, this imposing edifice symbolizes the nation’s aspirations and governance. Designed with a blend of modern and traditional Ghanaian architectural elements, the Jubilee House serves as a potent emblem of the country’s rich heritage and forward-looking vision.
And I was looking forward to being part of that vision. Here’s how my auspicious experience unfolded. First I had my driver stop and park so we could go talk to two policemen standing on the median of the busy street that runs along one side of the Jubilee House. I explained to them that was interested in visiting the Jubilee House as tourist and as an American entrepreneur exploring a private public parnership with the Ghana government (and I wanted to schedule a meeting with the Minister of Finance). We had a nice conversation and one officer even gave me his personal phone number. They explained that tours are no longer allowed at the Jubilee House. And, they directed me to the guards at the entry gate of the Jubilee House to discuss my business interest. So, my driver and I walked back to the car and drove to the to the first security checkpoint.

After a discussion about my desires, the guards allowed us to pass to go to the Reception. We drove, parked and I entered a building and spoke with three ladies at the Reception desk. Super friendly, they advised me to write a letter to the Chief Director Henry Wood of the Office of the President and they would personally delivery it to him. One of the ladies even gave me her personal number and offerred to help me with a private tour. The next day, I returned and delivered two copies of my letter (yes, I spent all night writing it and a friend found a printing shop). Less than 48 hours later, the Chief Director sent me an email welcoming me and inviting me to meet with the Ghana Investment Promotions Centre (GIPC). This meeting occured a few days later and history is in the making with SKYQUA Water.
Beyond its administrative roles, the Jubilee House is also a site of national pride and a focal point for significant state events and ceremonies. Its establishment has not only elevated the stature of Ghana’s governance infrastructure but also reinforced the country’s identity on the global stage. The Jubilee House stands as a testament to Ghana’s enduring journey towards progress and development, reflecting both its storied past and its promising future.
